About Me..
For me, wine has always been about people as much as place.
I’m Carl, a London-based wine host, educator and performer creating relaxed, thoughtfully curated wine experiences designed to bring people together. The kind of evenings built around great bottles, good conversation and a genuine sense of occasion; where strangers meet and leave as friends.
My journey into wine began in Santorini in 2020, tasting wines shaped by volcanic soils, fierce winds and intense heat. It sparked a fascination with terroir and with how the same grape can tell a completely different story depending on where it’s grown.
Before wine, I spent 19 years as a primary school teacher, an experience that continues to shape the way I host tastings today: approachable, engaging and never intimidating.
Alongside wine, I’ve spent years performing and leading live events as a musician and choir host. That background naturally influences the atmosphere of my events - social, welcoming and full of energy, with wine acting as the thread that brings people together.
Today, alongside working as a freelance musician and working professionally in the wine industry, I host private tastings, wine clubs, public events and creative collaborations through Wine with Carl.
No jargon. No snobbery. Just thoughtful wines, memorable experiences and people enjoying them together.
